Why Antler Invested in HIFI's $37M Series A

We’re doubling down on HIFI’s $37M Series A round led by Left Lane Capital with participation from Tether - after backing the company at the pre-seed and seed.

Why Antler Invested in HIFI's $37M Series A

HIFI has surpassed $1 billion in transaction volume lifetime, growing 50%+ month-over-month over the past six months.

The company is building infrastructure to power entirely new financial products with stablecoins across payments, card issuance, and capital markets. They currently support over 10,000 businesses and 200,000 individuals moving stablecoins into over 86 countries today. The team is growing to over 50 members in their NYC office and they’ve recently expanded their licensing footprint across the UAE and Japan.

First institutional investor

Antler was the first institutional investor in HIFI, investing in Zach and Mo in May 2023. We backed them pre-product based on their work ethic and obsession with building a foundational payments platform using stablecoins. Our conviction in them has only grown. They've built a best-in-class team, stood up a bank-grade in-house compliance program, and won partnerships with the top companies in the U.S market.

Since then, programmable money has crossed from thesis to real infrastructure. This year, stablecoin volume passed the ACH network - the backbone of US payments - for the first time. Circle is a public company. Global banks are moving real settlement onchain via the Canton Network, a privacy-focused blockchain built for regulated institutions.. Adoption is no longer hypothetical.

The case for stablecoins

Stablecoin use cases are increasingly clear - treasury, remittance, cross-border payments. The promise of money-as-code has massive potential to disrupt a global payments system that relies on a chain of correspondent banks with people in the loop. Nearly $27 trillion is trapped in this system, and all financial products are held hostage by the status quo.

HIFI is powering the future of payments - instant, verifiable, programmable - unlocking complex payments workflows via API that were not previously possible. Escrow payments that release on a verifiable event. Treasury that automatically rebalances itself across a global corporation. Tokenized asset settlement. Programmable credit. These are the use cases that got us excited about the future of payments that HIFI will power.
